Storage Hooks in the frt storage area

I added some Rubbermaid Storage Hooks in the front storage pass through. It's an adjustable system made for organizing your garage and comes with dozens of hooks or basket types. I wanted a place for my extension cords and water hoses and had one laying around. Took all of about 30 minutes today to install. Hardest part was crawling inside and getting the last few self tapping screws into the aluminum framing.

Ease of mod, about a 3 on a scale of 10.

Very nice!! I like that a lot. Did you use the required mounting pack to put it up? I thought about doing something like that but with peg board. It seems your mod looks to be a lot sturdier and better looking. Thanks for sharing with us.

Nope. Just used some 1" self tapping screws.

The Aluminum piece of the rubbermade that you mount has two holes every 8". I got a screw into all the top ones and and everyplace there was a verticle stud (2) I got a screw into the bottom hole to bite the support. Very strong. Have no worries about it holding 30-40 lbs of cords or gardden hoses or anything else I would hang off it. I just like that I can move the hangers around since they just clip on the black plastic cover and even change them out if I wanted to have a basket or some other type of attachment. They are also totally removable if I need to take them off for a trip for some reason.

I added the Rubbermaid Fast Track to my Passport today. I opted for 96" long mounting bar. It almost covers the full length of my pass through. As stated above, there is a host of choices for different types of hooks. My Home Depot did not have the baskets as a choice though. Thanks for posting this mod!

Now knowing they have baskets, I'm sold on this idea.
Just one question- did you clean you storage area up before taking the picture for us, or where's the rest of your stuff?

No, Didn't clean it, just had to unload it to get enough room for my big butt to lay in there and put the screws in the framing. I'm going to be purgings some of the stuff I have in the storage that I haven't used and reorganizing. WHen I do, I will give you some good shots with everything in it. Also looking at puttings some PVC in it for fishing rod holders.

Stay Tuned!
