Retracting Awning

The awning on my 2010 Cougar has been working fine up until now. We got up during a heavy downpour to retract the awning but it would try but only move the awning an inch and stop. We found out if I lifted on the awning while my wife held in the retract button it would go up. It went back down fine today so I thought I would try the retract and again it would only try. Any suggestions or thoughts on the problem.

Brand of awning? Sounds like a failing motor.
