Turning on Furnace

This may sound stupid but, when I got up this morning it was about 60 degrees in the 5ver. The rear (bedroom) A/C has a heat pump so I turned it on. I wanted to start the gas furnace too but there is no option to turn it on in the In-command menu. Am I missing something? From the picture it looks like the option to turn on the furnace is the button "Electric" would switch it to furnace or propane but the button does change when touched.

Try using the other AC. The “main” AC will control the furnace.
Depending on how the system is set up, a 5 degree difference will trigger the furnace when using a heat pump. Heat strip is probably different.

I’m an Alpine owner and know the systems quite well..

Your In Command HP and Furnace modes are BOTH on the same Zone.. in this case Rear unit is Zone 1…

If the furnace option is not switching over when you press the button that is displaying Elect mode then the DC (Display Commander) is not seeing the furnace ..

Turn off the DC and then go outside to where the BCM is and do a reset on BCM and then turn DC back on and go to rear unit and try and select furnace mode…

If issue still persists give the folks at ASA Jensen Tech Supprt a call and they will do their best to help you resolve the issue

Thanks for the replies I tried the suggestions and no luck I will call ASA today and see what they have to say. I am heading up to Frisco, Co. in 6 days and will only have 30 amp power and the forecast shows mid 30's at night so I'd like to get this working.

The only other issue that would cause this IF the floor plan loaded is correct and the In Command is communicating correctly to Zone 1 control module is the DIP Switch settings on Zone 1 control module on the roof were not set correctly during the build... But this should have been caught be dealer prior to selling the unit.. Easy enough to check by removing roof cover on Zone 1 roof AC unit and there should be ONLY 1 dip switch set to ON for the furnace..

Called ASA, Tech was helpful said he would check out the floor plan and see what he could do. He suggested that I call Keystone and see what they could do. I called Keystone and they basically said that it was ASA that does the floor plans and said if they couldn't fix it and it continues to be a issue to go an authorized dealer. So I guess I am a wait and see mode.

ASA did me a new Floor Plan and emailed it to me. Sitting in the 5ver right now with the furnace and fake fireplace both on. 30 degrees outside and 70 inside.

I have a 2018 Alpine 3501rd with an In command system. Zone 1 is in the back living room area. When I go through the modes for Zone 1 that is where you will find “FURN” along with “HP” and “Cool”. Zone 2 is the front of 5ver. In our case the bedroom. That is only an AC so you will find “Cool” and “off”and “Fan” there.
