Shower Replacement

Looking for advice/input on replacing our shower. We recently picked up an older 2003 Mountaineer TT with really good bones and we're doing some updating with flooring, paint and bathroom upgrades. My question relates to the shower, I'm wondering if it's possible to use a standard residential shower kit rather than something RV specific. I understand that we'd need to be able to secure the door during travel, but are there other concerns besides that. We're specifically looking at a curved door shower and I'm not able to find many specifically for RV's that don't cost almost as much as we paid for the trailer to start with. Any input and advice would be greatly appreciated.

We are going through the same thing. We’ve looked at corner shower at Lowe’s and Home Depot but most are too high for our 5th wheel.
We’re thinking of going to the people that made our showers at home.
I’m looking forward to hearing what other people have done

Haven't done it but will give some observations. You are asking about replacing an RV shower enclosure with a residential unit. I'd suggest that you first take some very careful measurements of what you have. Not only The L x W x H but the location of the drain and water connections. Then look at units that match up to that layout.

While a lot of residential bathrooms can be reoriented with ease most RVs cannot. Moving a shower drain could end up being a major job. Floors are not constructed in the same manner and it's easy to get into a bind if you don't have all the information first. The other consideration with glass doors if you are going to move the trailer is how can you secure them while on the road. Nothing ruined a trip like using a shop vac to collect your beautiful new shower doors and showering in the cg shower afterwards.
