Awning travel lock

I saw a class A motor home last fall with the awning ripped halfway off on 95 north...does anyone use a awning lock or strap to make sure the awning doesn’t open while traveling? Or am I worrying about nothing?

Some manual awnings use a lock mechanism but for the electric awning I don't think there's a need. Time for you to stop stressing anjd worring over "what ifs" and get out an enjoy that camper!

Manual awnings have a ratchet on the tube that won’t allow the awning to extend and locks on the arms.

Electric awnings have a “motor brake” meaning without power applied to the motor it won’t turn if the brake is operating. Chances of the brake not working?? I have only seen 3 in my career.
