How to remove stove hood

We have a 2017 Keystone Outback 316rl. Since the hood does not have an outside vent we want to remove the stove hood. This spring we had a Fantastic Fan w/remove Installed and love it. The Fantastic Fan does the job the ‘pretend’ stove hood can’t.

For the last couple days I have been searching the forum for mods pertaining to ‘stove hood mods’ and I can’t find what I need. I was hoping for picture with how to remove the hood.

Thanks

Mine was just 4 screws holding it to the cabinet. Check the four corners for screws. You will also need to remove the power lines.

I replaced the one in our Laredo that was a ‘pretend’ stove hood with one that vents outside, I bought at Etrailer.com. It was very easy, just 4 screws hold it in place. I replaced it with an identical looking model that vents outside. The biggest challenge is cutting a rectangle hole in the side of the trailer to match the outlet from the range hood. I just took my time and was very careful laying out the templet. It came out great and DW can now cook without filling the trailer with fumes and hot steam.

I installed a MaxxAir fan in the vent located about 3 feet from the range hood. I have the same sentiments regard ours as yours. Just last week, I set the toaster for a little too long and walked away. The smoke detector alarmed and took a mere 8 seconds of exhaust rotations frkm the MaxxAir to clear the cabin air. No need for the range for me either.

Every time I use the oven the smoke detector goes off. Now I turn on the fantastic fan and that takes care of the problem.

Our stove sits on the slide out, so no putting holes into that wall. Since the hood is coming out, maybe the wires can be used for some lighting?? A robe light would get me more light that I'm getting right now.

Thanks to everyone for helping. When finished , I'll be posting pictures,

You may want to cover the area with a sheet of aluminum before adding a light. I noticed that is what is being done on other brands. I assume to limit steam/condensation damage to the foil “woodwork” used for the cabinets.

We're also looking at the Smart Tiles for our kitchen project. Smart Tiles has a 'Protective Aluminum panel' that we're using on the wall next to the stove.

Just to clarify my suggestion on the aluminum panel. I was referring to the underside of the upper cabinets that is currently occupied by the stove hood, not the walls adjacent to the stove.
