Passport 217exp storage

The area below the sofa/futon, has anyone ever opened that up to try to make more storage underneath? It seems like wasted space. I know 1/2 of it is the water heater. Didn’t know if it could be boxed in to make another cubby.

I was going to tackle this project this summer but we ended up trading the unit in. I agree if you unscrew the sofa and remove the top of the box it sits on (only screwed on) you will be able to install a wood divider. Leave at least 6 inches from the water heater. simply remove the cutout on the empty side front facing and purchase a door that would cover that area from Trekwood. It should not be to difficult.

I had also ordered these for the rear storage area which helped me pack that area and keep things organized. Hope these help they fit perfectly in your rear storage area. The dimensions are 11-3/4" x 17-1/2" x 14-5/8" h and the link to the website is https://www.containerstore.com/s/sto...uctId=11002961.
