Tongue Stock Battery Tray Size

I have a 2014 298RE. I can fit ONE 24,or 27, or 31 series battery in the stock tray. I guess I could put two 24 series side by side but to what end.

There is room for (2) 31 series batteries or 2 golf cart batteries but the tray does NOT have enough room for the battery boxes from front to back. What could it have cost for one more piece of flat strap, and 2 " more angle iron on the back piece.

Any one have more space in a different camper line or is this the same for all?

I've towed several different TTs, seems like there isn't a standard battery size. The newer more aerodynamic fronts on some force the battery tray further forward and makes it so only one 24 battery will fit.

And some of the V fronts put it underneath. Total PITA to put that GP 24 in a box on the tray. I've seen so little room that the W/D saddle bolts won't clear.
