New Recliner Love Seat- Much Needed Mod

After hating the couch for two years, I sold the pleather OEM airbed couch on Craigslist for $200 and replaced it with a pleather recliner love seat ($489 Value City Furniture). I couldn't be happier with it. The DW and I can finally sit together and actually be comfortable. We will not miss the hard as a rock couch and never used the air mattress.
The love seat is about 8" narrower, so now I have room to build and install wooden ledges or shelves on each end to hold drinks, remotes, etc. The new love seat fit in the door no problem with the seat backs removed.

Very nice.

I have yet to see / feel a couch in a trailer that I'd be happy with. In the trailer I have, there is no room for one, so I'm not missing anything! In time though, once I have bigger truck and can therefore look for a bigger trailer ... I will keep in mind the sort of swap you made. Thanks for posting.

Looks good. Did you have to take the couch apart to get it out.

Nope. The back cushions pull right off (as if opening the bed) and carried it out through the door.

I can see that it sits in the slide. Is there a weight difference between the old one and the new one? I would love something other than that awful couch, but wasn't sure if the slide would support a recliner.

The new one weighs 160. I would estimate the old one weighed 100. It won't be a problem weightwise

Looks and fits great!
How deep is your slide? We want to replace the uncomfortable OEM sofa in our TH but the slide is only 37" deep. All the sofas we've found are in the 40-44" range.

The slide is standard depth, I believe 40". You will need to buy a wall hugger type recliner. My recliner has a rectangular metal framed base with 4 feet. The front feet sit about 4" back from the edge of the slide floor and the recliner backs do not touch the wall when fully reclined. It fits well. The depth of the love seat if you measure the outer edge of the seat cushions to the rear edge of the seat back is about 40".

We kept the sofa with the air mattress because we sometimes have guests, but the two La-Z-boy recliners are really a blessing. Besides, if we got rid of the sofa, we would have two unhappy Yorkies on out hands.

Our 333MKS has the couch across the back wall and 2 recliners in the main slide next to the dinner table. Because there are only the two of us and the pups we thought about replacing the two recliners with a love seat/recliner but decided to just remove two of the dinner chairs and one of the recliners. This allowed us to replace the recliner with an extra large dog crate which also serves as a place to set drinks while watching the TV.. The pups sleep in the crate and kennel up when folks come to visit.
