TST 507RV vs 507SG
I ordered the TST 507 RV with 6 flow thru senders from Camping World. What I received was the 507 SG. The difference being the SG does not have the anti theft locking mechanism.
The instruction manual is for both the RVand SG.
However, is the RV software more up to date? Did CW pull a bait and switch?

Well, I called TST yesterday and got some good answers.
A. The 507RV has the light non flow thru sensors and do NOT require the steel valve stems. The anti theft locking wrench is included because the sensor spends on the valve stem.
B. The 507SG has the heavier flow thru sensor and requires the steel valve stem because it will damage the rubber valve stem and cause a slow leak. There is a locking set screw that requires a hex Allen wrench and this is considered an anti theft device.
Apparently, Camping world combined the ads of two similar products. They tell you that you are getting one product, and send you the other. If you go to the CW web sight, look up the 507, you will find 2 videos. The first is for the 507RV, the second is for the 507SG.
I have installed 4 sensors on my TT and get a nice strong signal. I am mostly impressed with the system. The thought of having to bring my camper to the tire shop to have steel valve stems installed at an addition cost does irk me somewhat. I will have the tires balanced. The shop manager will try to sell me 4 new tires, that's his job.

I'm getting ready to order a TPMS for my toy hauler and have read several reviews. Seems the TST and Tireminder are the two most popular systems so any opinions, is one really better than the other? My toy hauler is 35 feet, two axles. Does one have better reception than the other? It looks like Tireminder has a new model, not sure how long it has been out and any reviews? I do have the metal valve stem already and leaning towards a non flow through design. I prefer the smallest diameter cap on the valve stem, any difference between Tireminder and TST?

I have the TST and I like it but the reception is poor. I called them and they said 90% of customers with a fifth wheel will need the repeater, which is an extra $50. I replied that maybe I should have bought a Tire Minder to which they replied I would still need a repeater, and they said Tire Minder has recently raised their price and started including the repeater. I have no doubt the repeater will solve all the issues I just haven't broke down and bought it yet. It'll work for an hour or so and then one of the sensors will drop out, so I just turn it off and back on. Or if i put the monitor on the back of my center console toward the back seat it seems to stay in contact with all the sensors. Eventually I'll break down and get the repeater before I go on any long trips.

I had the older Tireminder system (400 series I believe) and it worked great with the 5er, my 08 F350 SRW had TPMS so I was only trying to cover the 5er. With the antenna up, I was able to get reception 80-90% of the time to the rear passenger tire, adding the repeater gave me 100% coverage. New truck, same as yours, doesn't have TPMS, so I upgraded to the new Tireminder system and 6 additional sensors and am very pleased with the results. Inner tire sensor installation, without removing the tire was "fun"... But other than that I couldn't be happier Oh, and the repeater I had works with the new receiver too! I keep 2 extra sensors with me, as the only issue (and this was early models) was a separation in the weld of the battery hold down tab in the sensors. Haven't had an issue with the newer sensors, or the replacements that they sent for free!

I have a TireMinder 400 series for sale with booster is interested. I used it on a Freedom Lite 32 ft bumper pull with the transmitter and never lost reception. I also used it on the Sydney Outback 5'r with no problems with the booster. The tireminder seems simple to use and set up. The one for sale is in the for sale section.
Tireminder does include boosters if you buy the whole kit with senders.

Tst 507sg
The only experience I have is with the TST 507SG on my 33 ft Laredo. After some confusion and a lot of questions, I can now say that the TST works great for me.
The 507SG has the heavier flow thru sending units. They recommend steel valve stems. One of the rubber valve stems developed a slow leak. I brought my RV to the tire shop, the guy offered the high pressure copper stems, total was $66 for all four installed. Just came back from a 100 mile round trip and the system worked great. Got a good strong signal on the monitor, watched the pressure go from 65lbs to 72 and the temp went up to 82. All within safe levels. We are getting ready to go to Yellowstone this summer, 1800 miles each way, and I feel a lot better that I will be able to monitor pressure and temps.

I put the TST 507 flow though sensor TPMS on our '14 38 foot fiver with Blow Max ST tires just before an extended trip last fall. With the exception of one failed battery, they worked just fine without the repeater with whatever valve stems Keystone's lowest cost vendor supplied (metal). With the new LTs just installed a few days ago I'm not quite as concerned about potential tire failure, but the TPMS system will be reinstalled later on this morning. And those sensor batteries - I found an eBay site that sells new date Energizers a bunch less expensive then Walmart to replace the Chinesiums that TST supplies.
Just a quick edit = reinstalled mine as I said above. Three are fine and read within 3 pounds or what their stated tolerance is, the fourth leaks the tire down - i.e 16 pounds via my digital gauge in about 20 minutes. Gonna work on the 3 year warranty for a replacement sensor as the valve inside the sensor seems fine though with the LT tires .......

I have the TST 507 flow through on our 38' triple axle Raptor. With our F350 CC LWB, I would occasionally drop the two sensors on the rear axle until I installed the repeater.
Edited to add that I installed the repeater at the rear of the truck, with power to the receiver and repeater wired to one of the upfitter switches.

I don't have any experience with Tire Minder so I can't compare the two. I have used my TST 507 on the RV and now on the dually for the past year and they work great. Since I started using them on the truck, I need to buy some more sensors, only bought 4 for the RV originally since I had a 2500 with factory TPMS at the time. I don't have the flow through sensors, on the RV it isn't a big deal. I set the tire pressure and then install the sensors before heading out. Haven't had a need to adjust them. A little different story now that I'm running them on the truck as well. I plan to order 6 new flow through sensors for the truck and put the non flow through back on the camper. Love the system though and the fact that I can program the parameters I want to include what PSI and temp I want the warning chime to be activated. Not required to constantly be watching the display when you know it'll tell you when there is a problem. I do find it interesting to watch the temps and pressure as they change.

I ordered and just received the Tireminder A1A TPMS. Dumb question, but it comes with the brass transmitters and are these okay with metal valve stems? My toy hauler has metal valve stems and after reading the instructions that came with the Tireminder I'm a little confused.

Yes, you want the brass. I have them on the 5er and the truck.

Is a booster usually required for use with a 39 ft fiver?

I cant really answer your question but will say that the Tireminder comes with the booster and the instructions manual says to definitely use it so there's no interference.

To answer your question in highly technical terms...maybe. I don't have a problem with mine on a 39' trailer, others do. I expect I will probably have some problems as the batteries get older and the signal is not as strong. At that point I have a choice to change batteries or get a booster,

For those of you using the booster where did you locate it? Trying to figure out the easiest and best place to put it. For those of you with Fords, did any of you connect it to the uplifter switches? That's where I was thinking of connecting it to and then placing the actual signal booster to the rear of the truck somewhere.

Think I will get the tireminder that comes with the booster just in case. Thanks!

When I called TST they said just hook it to the battery in the front of the fiver.

Thats where I put mine, upper inside wall between the doors. Out of the way and close to the battery.
