Google Maps...

I have a bunch, some are of more use than others. I really like my weather apps, especially the ones that provide you with a warning when bad weather is heading your way.

While on the road I like "Travel Weather Radar" but once we are at the site I have to agree with Javi ..... turn it off an put it in the drawer ... best free app ever and the battery stays charged.

I've wondered about that ... I have no problem viewing or posting to the forum without Tapatalk. I don't seem to need it with Android. I had installed it but than deleted it.

Does anyone know of good app for using the I phone as a leveling devise, so that I don't have to carry my level from garage every time??

The Iphone compass has a level. Slide the compass to the left to display the bubble level.

Ok outside of throwing the phone in the drawer once parked, I have a second question on Apps. Does anyone have an App for monitoring road condition while traveling, similar to GPS but with traffic information. I currently have WAZE on my phone did know if there were similar or better App out there.

I have a question for all you I Phone users. Does anyone know if there is a means of some sort of interface between an I Phone and I Pad. By this I mean if I'm driving down the road and I'm using a traffic App, it would be easier if I could plug I phone into I pad for viewing, i.e. a laptop into a projector for larger viewing ease.

You have the same apps on your iPad as you do your iPhone, synced thru iTunes/iCloud/App Store.

Sort of related to apps .........If any of you are planning on visiting British Columbia or some other Canadian provinces then you should know that you can be fined for operating a hand-held device while driving. "Operating" includes but is not limited to texting or talking on a mobile phone or using a GPS or tablet while in your hand.

The fines can be quite costly - up to a $1000 - in Ontario, for example.

So using your iPhone or android with the appropriate app to find a campsite or check the weather is great - just don't get caught with the phone or iPad in your hand while driving.

The police have been using some "creative techniques" to catch offenders. They disguise themselves as "down and outers" and stand on the corner of busy intersections holding a sign that might say "I'm hungry- need $ for food". Behind the sign is a two-way radio that is used to contact the "real" police if they see you with a cell phone in hand. Waiting to pull you over just down the road is the uniformed, undisguised policeman.
