jack knife sofa mod

Has anyone put a piece of plywood under the sofa to give it more support

I was thinking about that too. We spent an agonizing 3 nights on that sofa bed when we had friends join us in Florida. Lets hope there is someone out there that has addressed that problem. I would definitely be up for that mod.

Mine has those cheap plastic strapping tape supporting the cushions. From time to time, they'd break at the joint. I replaced them with ½" metal strapping. I think it's pipe hangar. And I used a double screw-eye thingie to complete the loop and tighten it up. No problems since them.

So…maybe some of those might help.

However, it still looks like a lousy sleeping setup. Our dinette has more space and support in its sleeping configuration.
