If you have 2 entry doors, just choose which key you want to use and order another lockset with that key.

Where's the best place to order from? Can I get cores for the baggage doors also?

It depends on what brand locks. No trailer information equals answers in generalities. Sort of like asking "what floor mats fit my car?".

I keyed our trailer locks to one key by ordering from rvlocksandmore.com . The locks in the storage compartment doors, the outside kitchen door, and the outside shower compartment are all different depths on our trailer so if you change out anything other than entry doors take the measurements first.

Something to consider if your intending to rekey ALL locks on both the entry doors and the storage compartment doors....

Rekeying to "one key fits all locks" will mean that when someone has your entry door key, they also have access to your storage compartments. If your trailer is in for service, then whoever has the key, can access everything.

Rekeying to "two keys, one for entry door locks and a different one for storage compartment locks" will give you a bit more security. If you leave the entry door key with someone (service technician or even a child that you don't want rummaging through your storage compartments) then with different keys, you can "prevent some of that from happening".... Sort of like having a ignition key that fits the doors on your car and another key for the glove compartment, console lock and trunk.... ( I know, that's somewhat "antiquated" with the addition of a truck unlock button on the dash, but.....)

Something to consider, and certainly not a solution for everyone.....

Back when I was still working for new dealers, some manufacturers were building units with 1 key fits all. It allowed access for a tech with a pass key as long as the unit wasn’t dead bolted, but didn’t allow any access to any compartment as they were pinned to the deadbolt.

I wasn’t a fan because most of the time you had to access a compartment to get to the shore cord, or the disconnect, or an appliance to work on.

Or carry this "universal key" Klein Tools 600-6 5/16-Inch Keystone Screwdriver 6-Inch Square Shank https://www.amazon.com/dp/B0000302WN...9R752V9Q2VDGD6, it's
under $15 and haven't seen a trailer door or hatch that it wouldn't open.

My pass through compartments are complete bungler proof! All my pass through keys are Hilman and don't have no stinkin 751 key! I would protect my sewer hose with my life and thus the incredible security measure of re-keying with the True Value Hilman key.

I learned my lesson decades ago when we first bought a camper. During winter storage someone emptied the contents from a bunch of units in the lot. That's when I found out about the infamouse 751 key.

After changing them out on several trailers ( and discovering some tool boxes that use it as well), I've ended up with a handful of those keys in my tool box. More than once I've given a key to a fellow camper in distress who lost their key to their storage compartment. Changing the locks won't deter the thief with a "Klien Tools universal key" but hopefully will make the "casual theif" using a 751 key pass it by.

While I respect your verbosity in defending your sewer hose I won't put mine inside the camper. If someone is desperate enough to steal it then they consider it a donation. I'll just replace it.

$13.97 ??????

Harbor Freight has one for $1.99 that even has a hole in the handle so you can insert a "lever to make twisting the lock" even easier.....

I'm not sure that any RV lock is ever going to be "secure" in a literal sense. Foam core doors with plastic outer layers usually aren't stronger than a "kick with a boot"...

Better hide a key to that lock somewhere handy so when the batteries go dead in that digital lock you can still get in! BTDT!!!!

I have that 🪛, I bought it probably 50 years ago?? Just guessing, but probably cost $1.50 back then.

Yep... I just went to the Menard's website to get a link for HDPE sheets. I paid around $25 or 30 5 years ago, it's $80 today for the same sheet...

That would be me. I replaced 6 cylinders (2 in the door and 4 in the baggage door slam latches) and the 2 front storage door cam locks so that they are all keyed alike. I was able to choose from 90 key codes It was about 800 dollars cheaper than going the keyless route and I still would have to have a key for the cam locks

So yeah, locks only keep honest people out and add a mild inconvenience to someone who wants to steal something. I ordered cores from rvlocksandmore, looks super simple and will replace this weekend. Really locking will hopefully just make someone move on to an easier target.

This was super easy. Took like 10 minutes to re-key the entire trailer.

I needed to replace a lock on one of my pass through doors. Both pass through door locks are keyed the same as my entry door. I went through Bauer Products to get the new lock. They have everything you would need.
