Smile Solera awning missing something?

We purchased a 2021 Wolf pup back in March. We are parking it seasonally. We decided we also wanted to add a screen room and bought a carefree vacation'r screen room. When trying to install we realized we only have one slot on our Solera RV awning and it is being used by the awning canapy. We are new to travel trailers(pop-ups prior), but it seems that there should be at least 2 because of accessories. Could someone advise on this? All awning screen rooms including from the maker of the awning appear to be installed using a "free slot", but there is not one on ours and we searched for a good bit. Thanks!!

Welcome to the forum

Fabric tubes can have 2 or 3 slots. If you roller tube has LED lights that will cover one. The other two are:

Awning fabric
Valence fabric.

Thanks. It says it was built July 2020. I have to wonder if the company ran out the correct parts.

Interesting. They must derided to eliminate that third slot. It was just for the pull cord and now that it isn’t used on the electric awnings it isn’t needed. That plus I bet it’s cheaper to make the roller tube with just 2 slots.

I would contact Lippert and tell them you want to install a screen room on your awning and explain your problem to them. DON'T TELL THEM YOU'VE ALREADY BOUGHT A COMPETETOR'S PRODUCT !!!!!

They may decide that since you're going to spend more money that they could do a "good will gesture" and exchange your awning tube....

It probably won't work to get you a roller tube free, but it may work to get you one at a reduced price....

Worth a try, even if you don't get anything.....

We emailed them a few days ago asking them to recommend one of their products for a roller tube with just one slot and no extra. We will see. Funny is the awning and the small valence both share the same slot. There is literally only 1 slot. We just showed it to our neighbor on the site next to us and they agreed. It is missing. They also said to dispute with the company lippert/Solera (same?) I may take it to Twitter if I don't hear in a week.. I heard that works in getting businesses attention! Thanks for your input.

Solera is a Lippert product. I would call them if they don’t answer your email. I have called them several times for other issues and have had nothing short of great customer service.

I tend to disagree that complaining about any particular company on social media is the way to get anything resolved.
