Auto Generator Start?

My sister & BIL are visiting. They are in a Gulfstream Conquest Class C... brand new. They will be here for a month. They are going west into the desert and have cats and dogs with them and are afraid if they are out the critters will fry if there is a power outage. They want to use an auto generator start:

https://www.donrowe.com/Magnum-Energ...p/me-ags-s.htm

They believe this will kick the generator on if there is a power outage if the temp gets about the setting they choose and keep the A/C going. Has anyone ever used one of these gadgets? Not sure how hard it is to install; the seller said any intelligent person could do the job but that scares me. I know there are alternative (kennels, leaving critters at home, etc) and am not interested in your alternative suggestions, just want to know if someone has experience with an AGS. THanks

Tiffen motorhomes had Magnum inverters. The diesel rigs had a magnum panel that included auto gen start. I never I encountered an issue, so that said I wouldn’t hesitate to install anything from Magnum.

George, Magnum certainly has a respected name in this tech area, and I believe because of your chosen vocation you have a better than average handle on this type of activity, why not simply order the package and help him install it while he's visiting? He wouldn't be out more than a couple hundred bucks and this gives them ample time to test the waters along the way!
This is a very nice Class C, dollar for dollar!

They bought it at a cut-rate dealership (I think a chain) pretty far from where they live in Tennessee and when picking it up, the "tech" who did the PDI said everything was great. It has leaked from virtually every possible point where it could leak. The P trap under the shower was leaking badly yesterday. The same ol' story as they didn't try everything before departing the dealership... was cold that day I guess. Two hubcaps fell off and were lost on the drive here as well.

Well, I guess that goes to show what I know! They sure sparkled when we walked around and looked. Just one leak would do it for me.

It tells me that the dealership never did a proper PDI. It’s all too common, make a sale, get it “over the curb” and then maybe worry about fixing stuff.

Order it and install it, shouldn't be difficult.
