2017 F350 Bed Height w/5th Wheel

I have a new 2017 F350 CCLB SRW 4WD on order, and I'm wondering how the bed height is going to work with my 2016 371 Fuzion. Has anyone here actually gotten a 2017 Super Duty and tried to hook up their 5th wheel? I've seen some discussions in another forum about the 2017 DRW, but nothing much on the SRW.

Re: 2017 F350 Bed Height w/5th Wheel

I can only speak of the 2016, my drw is actually 2 inches lower in the back than my buddies 2016 srw.

Fords site typically lists the bed heights of the super duties.

Re: 2017 F350 Bed Height w/5th Wheel

The Ford website lists the open tailgate to ground measurement this way: 2016 F350 4x4 CCLB 37.7" 2017 F350 CCLB 37.6"

2016 F350 4x2 CCLB 33.8" 2017 F350 4x2 CCLB 34.6"

So, from those specs, there doesn't appear to be enough difference in measurements to make any significant difference in the 4x4 version and there's less than one inch in the 4x2 version.

that's what I found also, however as I noted there is a big difference with drw vs srw in 2016.

What kind of hitch will you use? My 24K Andersen has a vertical adjustment range of ~3" if that helps your situation.

I think you're in good shape with the Fuzion. The ground to bottom of the cap measurement lends towards the taller truck crowd. My buddy has a Cyclone toy hauler and his ground to bottom of front cap level measurement is a good 4" shorter than the Fuzion. He has to tow nose high just to clear the truck rails. That said, I pull a Fuzion with a 15' F350 SRW 4x4 (tallest of the bunch stock) and the trailer still pulls level while maintaining the desired 6" of bed-rail/cap clearance.

Re: 2017 F350 Bed Height w/5th Wheel

I'm currently towing with a 2008, CCSB F250, using a Pro Series 20K Reese. My current bed height unloaded is 37" and my bed rail height is 19.5". My current truck squats big time w/the trailer hitched. I know Ford's stats for the 2017 list the bed height as just 37.6", however, I've measured a new one (not mine, still waiting on order, but should be same truck) and the measured bed height was actually 40". The 2017 has a taller bed rail at 21.5". I am also fairly certain that the 2017 will not squat nearly as much as my 2008. All this considered, even with adjusting my hitch height, I'm afraid I'm going to have trouble getting the trailer level with the new truck, and maintain adequate bed rail-cap clearance.

xcntrk, I see you've got a Magnetic Super Duty. That's what I've got on order. I see in one of your other posts that you were thinking about some blue trim on the truck to better coordinate with the Fuzion. I'm planning on doing the same thing. I was hoping Ford would have some type of a coordinating blue color option for the new 2017 Super Duty, but alas, it's just the (IMO) ugly Blue Jean Blue they've been offering. Would definitely like to see some pictures when & if you add the blue.

Deal! But only in exchange for pics of your 2017 Magnetic SD!

I haul a golf cart in the garage much of the time, and over this past weekend saw a fellow camper with a custom painted Voltage toy hauler (neat yellow/silver/black color package). Anyway, he had his golf cart exactly color and pattern matched... it was awesome! I might pull the plastic on the cart over the winter and do my best to color match the Fuzion. If successful, maybe I'll move on to the truck...

I'll be glad to post if I ever get it. Apparently numerous delays. Ordered 9/19 with estimated delivery 12/17, and there are others who have waited 5-6 months.

I haul a blue Harley Triglide, so it already coordinates pretty well.

The magnetic gray does seem to work well with the Fuzions. I think you are right, they seem to clear the 2016 bed rails easily. If 2017's are taller, but close, it should work fine.
