Bathroom door makeover

Who designs these things?? So in order to open the bathroom door we had to step down in order to do so (Cougar 29ROB 5er). That wasn't going to fly! I bought a $37 accordion style folding door and commenced install. The worst part was cutting down the door for the opening. It said to use a hacksaw, no, use a cut off/miter saw, much cleaner and easier! Door's not a 100% match to the interior but it looks pretty good and works very well!

Wonder if flipping the door around to open right to left rather than left to right would have worked.

You solution worked good and looks good though.

I do not believe flipping the door was an option due to the angle of the bathroom wall and the corner cabinet that you can't see behind the wall to the right.

Morning..... Our bathroom door on our 14' 26sab had a right hand swing same as yours, but I can't tell which direction your bedroom door opens from your pic. . My 1st thought was doing the same as you did, put on a accordion door. Our bedroom door opened inward so we couldn't get in the there with the wardrobe slide closed. Thinking the situation out I decided to switch the 2 doors. Now the bathroom door opens with a left hand swing out and has just enough clearance to swing past the wall and out iover the steps if need be. DW loves it that way cuz it will allow ya to open it just enough to block the opening up on top of the steps & you can go from the bathroom to the bed room and not be seen. Now the bedroom door has a right hand swing out away from the bedroom and up against the wall.
1st pic is the original setup ...

I changed to an accordion door as well so I could gain access to bathroom when the slide is in, works great and looks good, got mine at Home Depot.

Nice mod! I've been thinking of doing the same because I can't access my bathroom with the slide in.

What does the accordion door offer for a latch/lock to ensure it stays closed when occupied?

I reversed the swing on my 26SAB
Wasnt a hard job , had to carefully remove all of the trim , reverse everything , adjust the trim angle on a piece or two
and drill a new hole for the door knob lock cylinder to fit into

Took me and DW about 2 hrs but I'm old and slow

We First looked at an accordian folding door and actually bought one at Lowes for $28
The color was a decent match and it would have to cut off on bottom but no big deal I didnt think

Once I got it home we decided we wanted the original door instead
So did the mods described above and returned the folding door to Lowes

Sure glad we reveresed that door!!!
That was really an awkward and unsafe factory install
