Digital Thermostat Install

I'm trying to install my digital thermostat in my '08 Springdale and I'm having difficulties getting the wiring correct. Pictures are below. Top pic is the original thermostat wiring and the second pic is the digital wiring from the modmyrv website. As soon as I push the cover on, the AC compressor starts running. If I switch it to cool, the fan comes on. The furnace comes on, but that's an entirely new topic as I believe mice are/were living in there by the scent that came out of the vents. I don't know anything about HVAC, can anyone help? Thanks!

Looks like both base plates are labeled where the wires connect. Did you transfer the wires one for one?

Yes, I found a different wiring diagram that I will try when I get a chance. The boss has me doing other stuff right now since the A/C or heat is not a necessity right now. I'll post back my results.

Thermostat

Hello,
I had to look up my wire diagram on the manufactures website, and found one wire is not used from the original thermostat. I don't know if that's your problem, but the manufactures website was a big help.

If the problem occurs only when you "push the cover on", check for a pinched wire, or a relay that is being crowded.

What happens when the thermo is swingin' in the breeze.... same trouble?

O on the new stat is for a reversing valve that heatpumps have. Looks like you have a Hunter stat. Buy a Honeywell. My neighbor bought one and wired it for his house system. I ended up rewiring it for him and going into the setup and changing things to get it to work. Also it didn't cycle correctly. Honeywell stats are by far the best. If you bought a 2 stage stat, the wire for high fan can be installed on Y2. Then you won't need to install the switch for high fan. You then also need to go into the setup on the stat and enable 2 stage AC.

I have a honeywell, model number RTH111. Not really sure what I did, but when I returned home and tried the furnace, it did not turn on. I'll get time this weekend to mess around with it. Kinda weird that it worked fine while in FL, A/C and fan, and now it doesn't. Fan works fine still, just heat and cool have no function now.
