Leaking Baggage Door

The newest item on my list is a baggage door that has one side with no sealant. The plan is the remove the door, remove all of the existing sealant, clean everything with denatured alcohol and reseal with silicon.
Does anyone know what the sealant of choice is? It looks like Keystone used clear silicon, but I'm only familiar with products used in the marine industry, not RV.
I used butyl putty tape for a project on a previous trailer and thought that when it came time to clean up the excess, it was a little messy. I've also used silicon on smaller exterior projects. I'm used to working with it and got good results but I only apply it on squeaky clean surfaces. Is silicon the appropriate material to seal around a baggage door?

Hi Bob
I would recommend using Pro-Flex RV sealant. It adheres well to fiberglass surfaces and is designed for RV use. I have used silicone products commonly available from Lowes/HD on my rv and they don't hold up very well.
One word of advice if using Pro-Flex: make sure you coat your finger with dish soap when smoothing out the caulk bead, or it will stick to your finger. Also, the stuff sets up quickly so you have to work one small section at a time.
Pro-flex s/b availablevat any rv supply place. I bought mine online at PPL Motorhomes.
