Kitchen slideouts question.
For those members with Kitchen slideouts how have they held up? I work with a guy that previously worked at a RV dealership for years. He says stay away from any unit with a kitchen or bath slide. He states that they had a tremendous number of issues with kitchen slides. This was around 7 years ago that he worked there. Are the units still having issues, or was it ever an issue?
Thanks

We had a 2005 Jayco with a kitchen slide. The only problem we ever had was with the drain line from the kitchen sink. The drain line included a joint that was supposed to swivel, and a piece of flexible hose so everything could move with the slide. The fittings were plastic, and did not seal properly. A trip to Home Depot for some metal replacements cured the problem.
I think if the plumbing is done properly, and you inspect it regularly to make sure you don't develop a leak, there should be minimal, problems.

No problems with ours, but then the only kitchen item on the slide is the stove/oven, the rest is to the rear.

Mine came with flexible drain hose for kitchen sink drain improperly installed at factory and thus was leaking. Since had other warranty issues to get fixed it's in the shop being taken care of. Other than that and a slide cable that wasn't tightened by factory, no probs so far on our kitchen slide.
As you can see from floorplan in my sig, our kitchen slide has fridge, a cabinet area, oven, microwave, and sink. So it's got electric, water, and gas lines.

Kitchen sliders
I have a Vantage 32FLS and had the same kitchen sink drain flex line problem as Outwest. Re-setting the connector coupling took care of it. But I also had a leak in the supply water flex line an had to order a replacement part. No amount of trying to snug the connector worked. The new line fixed it immediately. While I was in there anyway I checked and snugged all the other connections.
