Generator Status Light Wiring

The red status light on the control panel for the gen has never worked on my 15 327 Carbon. I pulled the panel back to look at the wiring and I'm a little confused. There is just one wire running from the light and it is going over to the awning switch! So I'm assuming it not wired properly. Even at that there is only one wire so how can it light? It can't ground on the panel because it's plastic. The bulb is held to the panel with some type of glue. Anyone know the proper wiring for this light?
