Storing Proceedure Query

For the first time for us
Instead of hauling our Montana home from our winter hiatus on the Gulf
We've decided to put it in storage down in Foley Al
We will store under roof ( but not closed in)
On concrete and plugged into 30 amp service

We plan on
a) leaving the roof vents open (Maxxire covered) for circulation
b) Plus Putting a small fan on a timer to run a few hours each day
c) Setting out containers of charcoal and cat liter to help absorb cabin moisture
d) converter should keep battery charged

Any input from those who have done this before and have tips to prevent mildew and mold
would be much appreciate

Thanks!

I like the idea of cat litter and backing soda to keep the moisture down but i leave the vents closed. No reason to let in outside air. No reason to run a fan ether. Leave a air freshener on the counter and close the door. I would unhook the battery if you just leave it hooked to shore power. That way you won't charge the battery dry. Put some wood under the tires. I had a 10 footer cut in half and that was just enough. 2x6

You might consider some "Cab Fresh" placed in the front storage compartment, under the bed and somewhere near the pantry. There are a couple of threads posted by people who stored their RV in Florida and had "unexpected visitors" that were found "scurrying through the roof rafters". It would be a $10 investment that might (or might not) help. The objective, I think, is to "never find out if it worked"..... LOL

I have been closing my vents and using Damp Rid buckets. I put one in the bathroom and one in the kitchen/living room. It has been good so far.

I might open the vents in the summer, since highs are 95+.

Thanks
I'll look into Damp Rid

I'll be storing in the Summer under a metal roof
so temps will be high
That's why I'm leaving the vents open and small fan on a timer

This is what I do when storing the camper back home in Arkansas in the summer
Undecided on keeping battery connected and trickle charged through converter
But doing this has worked well for me storing at home over the years

Never had any issues before but, storing near the Gulf coast is going to be a little different scenario I suppose

I don't have any plug in power at my storage, but I like the idea of a fan circulating the air.

We have a family condo in Gulf Shores, so I know that the humidity is really high.

My dealer provided a guide for long battery life, for lack of a better name, and it advised in big bold letters never to plug in without a battery installed so that a little load is put on the converter, otherwise converter will be ruined. To my surprise, it said never plug in without a battery in the system. My converter is WFCO 8900 series if I recall correctly. I've plugged in campers before without a battery, but this advice is something I noted. FWIW.
