Fridge Defrosting
We have defrosted our dometic RM2852 twice in the last year. Fridge and freezer are usually pretty full. Is this a lot?

We did ours once. I think the more the doors are open the more you have to do it.

X 2 If you let it defrost on it's own you'll be there all day If you use a hair dryer you only have to take the stuff out of the freezer and 15-20 mins it's all done

I'd urge owners of Dometic refrigerators to read their "owner's manual"... There's a caution on page 10 of the Dometic RM2652/2852 manual that reads:
! CAUTION !
DO NOT use a hot air blower. Permanent damage could
result from warping the metal or plastic parts. DO NOT use
a knife or an ice pick, or other sharp tools to remove frost
from the freezer shelf. They can create a leak in the ammonia
system.
While I'm not condoning or condemning the practice, Dometic recommends not to use a hair dryer to defrost their product.

After you read the manual get out the hairdryer and defrost it. Works great! Their warning is a CYA for THEM.
They also have a warning that states,
"EXPLOSION HAZARD. Never store explosive substances in the refrigerator, such as cigarette lighter fuel, gasoline, ether or the like. Failure to heed this warning could cause an explosion resulting in death or severe personal injury."

Definitely a choice you have to make as the owner, eh?

Oh and another thing if you do store gasoline in your fridge make sure it's in one of those gas cans with those stupid pia tops that are a pia to use and always seem to leak
Also do not use a blowtorch as you might melt things or warp your fridge door
