Hi Everyone,

My Wife and I are new owners of a 2007 Keystone springdale 290CT. We're new to being campers so this is a good first starter for us.

Welcome to the forum.

First bit of advice; check the manufacturing date on the tires. A 2007 camper was likely built in 2006 and unless the tires have been replaced they are due. Trailer tires don't wear out they age out. After 6 years you're traveling on borrowed time. Even if the tread looks brand new the tires may blow out because ST tires loose around 10% of their load capacity per year.

To check the mfg date look on the sidewall for an oval with 4 numbers inside. The first two numbers represent the week and the last two the year. As an example, 0722 would be the 7th. week of 2022.

Hopefully you don't have the original tires, as has been pointed out. I would consider getting on the roof and inspecting and re-sealing as your roof is the primary problem spot for leaks in an older camper and leaks are pretty much death to a camper. Lots of youtube videos and discussion on this form regarding roof maintenance.

we are new members, have a question on the shower of our RV. The drain is leaking. We uncovered the drain and found no way to dismantle or replace it.

First thing, go to the repairs/maintenance forum and start a new thread. It would be a great idea to build a signature with year, make and model of your camper and same for your tow vehicle so folks answering can do so with context.

I don't really know what you mean by uncovering the drain. On my camper you have to get under the shower (in our case bathtub) pan and unscrew the drain fitting which screws to the opening in the pan. If I recall, there is a seal there. On some campers it may be difficult to get to the underside of the shower pan.
