Atwood on demand hot water heater

We have on on demand hot water heater in our home that we have to have serviced yearly. The tech flushes a chemical to descale the unit if I don't have it done yearly the warranty is void. Do I need to have this done on my RV?

I would look at the owners manual for clarification about warranty coverage and any maintenance requirements. If you don’t have the manual, I would contact Atwood with your water heater model and serial number for more information.

Looking back through your posts, it looks like your trailer was purchased/delivered around December 1, 2019. If that is correct, then it's about 23 months ago. The Atwood demand water heater is a 2 year warranty, so you're about a month from expiration....

Descaling it "to maintain the warranty" probably won't make much difference at this point. However, as Chuck suggested, you might want to contact Atwood and get their recommendations on how to best "prolong serviceability" of your water heater.

If you have an extended warranty, THEY may have some "obscure requirements" tucked away in the policy, but from all I can see, Atwood has not identified any "maintenance/upkeep requirements" for descaling the unit.
