Quick question about Dewalt Impact Wrench

I've got several (as in more than 4) 20V 5-AH Dewalt batteries to fit my 12" chainsaw, trimer, reciprocating saw, and 1/2" drill.... so now I've decided that in my golden years I need a good 1/2" impact wrench just incase I have to change a tire on the dually or trailer.. (oh I'll still carry my 48" breaker bar)

Anyway... I think I've narrowed the choices to two...

OR

https://www.homedepot.com/p/DEWALT-2...-206159791-_-N

What y'all think... Or is there something better

Remember, 165 pound torque on the dually and them 9/16" studs on the trailer is 145 pounds..

I have both the DeWalt 20V XR 1/4 hex impact and 1/2 drive impact drill. They are very nice. On a whim I bought the Bauer 20V same from Harbor Freight. For the last two years my DeWalt stuff has been in the drawer and the Bauer stuff has been in my hands. I have dropped the Bauer impact off a trailer roof, the battery flew off, I put it back on and away we went right back to work. I did buy the Bauer 1/2 drive impact gun, but I’m not that impressed.

I have the more expensive one with the 1,200 ft lbs on "break away torque" and glad tonhave the extra power. I've had lug nuts that were properly torqued and had to hold down thr power for a long time (over 30 seconds) to get them to break free. I don't think the other model would have ever broke it loose.

I like DeWalt so wouldn't be shopping a bunch of other brands personally. I would also go with the XR (it's your money ) for the increased power and brushless motor. Looks a little more compact as well....I think.

The power on the XR is substantially more than the base model and it has always seemed to me (don't know that it's true....just "feel") that the numbers on them sometimes seem a little inflated. Hopefully that XR would let you pop those lug nuts right off vs ra tat tat tatting for 5 minutes so you could be done with the job as quick as possible. Just my thoughts.

My Bauer claims 450 lb ft of breaking power, I only use it to install not remove.

I've got the cheaper one..$131, and like it. It has always done whatever I wanted. I also have the 1/4" drive that is pretty handy.
Actually I need to get the DeWalt tools loaded in the truck for Monday's lift off to Kansas City. I usually pack the 1/2" impact, the drill, and the recip saw.

I would stick to Dewalt and go for the XR also. Shop around, Amazon has it for $44 less w/free shipping. JM2˘, Hank
