While scrolling through U tube videos today I watched 3-4 "how to" hitch up their TTs, all 3 were hitching up 25'+ TTs to mid size SUVs, one was a Ford Explorer, the other some model BMW & the 3rd IIRC was a Jeep Grand Cherokee, none which in my opinion were appropriate tow vehicles for the rvs they were connecting to.
It's no wonder newbies are so confused by what's able to tow what!!

1st of all traveling texans; Sorry to hear that your currently without an RV :-O
I think some people hitch it up and if their TV can pull it, they're good to go - getrdone!
Scary to watch bc the RV dealers had the highest sales in history and they had new sales people who also have no idea about camping bc they dont camp themselves.

Be safe all

Returned home yesterday from a week at Starlite Camping Resort in PA. Witnessed this rig come in but could hear it screaming as it pulled the hill. The guy gets out, looks at me and said "That hill's a real struggle isn't it?" "For me it wasn't" I replied.

It's a shame isn't it. Is he actually parked where he needs to be or did he need another 4-5 shots to get into the gravel parking area? Also, I would think there would be a wdh on that setup but looking as closely as I could I don't see a bar passing in front of the tongue jack...?? Oh well, they made it. Tomorrow they'll be screaming down the highway at 70 having a great time....

We know starlite well in Lancaster. Hope you guys had a nice trip, perfect weather.... If you come up the back way up the really steep hill, that will kill most transmissions.
What SUV is it ?
That SUV towing the TT is not going to have good results in an emergency situation. He is also killing the brakes, trans, suspension, and engine.

Lots of great bumper pulls that would do what you want.

While this may be true, TT don’t have the storage capacity of a 5er or the natural stability that a5er has.

Well, I have a completely different opinion on things here. I think the OP's truck is more than adequate to tow a fifth wheel trailer. Sorry folks, I diverge from the general consensus. He'll have absolutely NO problems at all towing with his 2018 Diesel Ram, he'll have no issues with payload, or weights, or anything ..... IF .... he gets this fifth wheel:

I totally agree!
That's very similar to our 1st 5th wheel, maybe it's a bit longer. We had great times in it then I got transferred & lived in it, by myself, for 4 months til we found a house & the DW moved.
BTW pulled it "just fine" with a '95 Chevy Z71 1/2 ton.

Watched a video on YouTube by a couple that went to the Hershey RV show…..they were pointing out how expensive the Rv’s were this year.
In one instance they had a class A motorhome that was advertised as one price on the first day and the very next day they taped over the 1st price and raised it $20000 the very next day..here’s an example and a couple other pics of pricing

Thanks everyone, The DW found a Dutchmen Atlas 2942BHF that she fell in love with. I told her that we would also have to upgrade the TV and she said fine!

It doesn't have the sideways bed, but she said she could live without it.
