probably just as cheap to replace the entire fixture. I think you answered your own question. The heat may have also compromised the base of the fixture also. Sockets are available but to find the one to fit your fixture may be difficult. Look on-line for fixtures complete with LEDs, you may find something reasonable. JM2¢, Hank
