Welcome! Like Chris asked, what's on the trailer now. My search came up with
ST205/75R 14 C. 15's would be better IMHO

What is the year of the trailer? What does the placard say on the front driver side as far as tire size? What's on it now? When I pull up info it shows a 14" tire/wheel. That trailer (according to what I read) is almost 8,000 lbs. No way would I be running 14" tires.

I think your advice to look at the yellow tire info placard on the trailer's side is about the best so far. If he has 14" rims then upgrading to 15" is considerable expense as new rims are needed. If he has 15", go from load range D to E.
