Google RV Armor, there's another company also, they come to you to roll on a lifetime warrantied roof coating. If I recall from a couple years ago it was about the same $$ as having the OEM material replaced.

Are you going to do it yourself or have it done in a shop? It’s not real hard, just very labor intensive.

I got mine done three years ago by a company in Georgia. I haven't had to do anything other than wash it, so no yearly cost for resealing ever again. And the cost is less than what a roof replacement would have been.

curious. how old is your trailer? and are you planning on keeping it for years to come?

'The cost of returning an RV roof will be around $300-$325 per linear foot. If your RV is 36 feet long, it would cost between $7,000 and $12,000 to replace the roof of your RV.'

Your profile states a 2014 Cougar. A roof replacement on a 6yr old unit seams a bit premature. Is there something else going on? Are you sure a good cleaning, reseal and coating won't do to extend the life. We are down in Florida, and many peoples do the above and have 15 and 20 yr old roofs.

Let me add, there are permeant units that have been reroofed with a layer of roof insulation and a commercial grade rubber roof for about $3,500. Not sure how they would go down the road with the roofing material not glued down. It is secured at the perimeter and roof fixtures. When they come in the park a 6 man crew can do 3 units a day.

If you go with the lifetime roof it's advisable to have it done before you experience issues with the roof. I had mine done at 7 years, before any leaks occurred. If I were to buy a new RV today I would have the lifetime roof applied before the first anniversary reseal was due. As the folks that installed my lifetime roof said, this roof never had any leaks and now it never will.

I have a 2002 27' Cougar 5th wheel. Ripped the rubber roof with a tree limb. Insurance paid the bulk and I paid the deposit for an RV-Armor.com roof. A similar product is Flexarmor but you have to take your camper to one of their install locations and leave it. That is about 150 miles for me as I recall. The RV-Armor.com folks have certified installers that come to your location and it takes 3-4 days. The product has a lifetime warranty that transfers with the camper's VIN and not to your ownership so can be a selling point if you sell your camper. Send me a PM if you decide to go this direction as they have a referral program that you would benefit from.

I took mine to an independent also. The price was considerably less than RV-Armor, I don't remember the actual cost because I had two AC units added and two slide awnings, but I it was slightly over the advertised price of $2200 because mine is over 35 feet long and the needed more of the coating.

I think the GA company is RV Roof Install. Commercial grade roof on RV. I'm sucked into his Youtube channel. I'd check it out for sure - they seem to go above and beyond.

Nothing. I just didn't want to spend the thousands of dollars to replace it when the time came, along with the $300-$400 a year in maintenance cost. Pretty much everything I buy I plan to keep for a long time so I try to get mileage out of my money. And it can't hurt the resale value. Anyone buying a used RV really should consider roof replacement cost going forward one way or another. If you plan on getting a new RV every 5 years or so it's not a big deal but you would be getting ripped by the depreciation anyway so what's the point.

Hi
If it would help you, I replaced the EPDM roof on my 36' Dutchmen last summer. Just go to the Dutchmen Forum, use the same password that you use on this one & type in "roof membrane replacement" I hope that it will help you, I documented everything with pics also.

I think I would get the spray on roof for about the same money.

Curious as to what you're doing to your roof that costs $300-400 a year?
A good cleaning & at most a couple tubes of caulking, $12-15 a tube, occasionally is all it ever cost me, but did it myself.

I was referring to Camping World's preventative maintenance cost that they advertise on their website. I don't climb up there, I'm 240 pounds. I have a ladder and an extendable brush that I use to clean it off about once a year, but I'm not getting on it if I can help it. If you look about halfway down the page on the right they offer to do the roof maintenance for $399.
