It is very convenient. I do a lot of business in that area. Also, my wife is a school teacher, and teaches by satellite to other schools in Virginia. One of the schools is not too far from the campsite and this affords her a chance to visit the school and teach in the actual classroom for a couple of days. The big plus is no neighbors.

Nothing better than finding an isolated camp site in the fall. The colors, the crunch of the dry leaves underfoot, the cool days and crisp nights. I say it with sadness, because this is our favorite time of year to camp, and our tow vehicle is in the shop. Big recall from Dodge - faulty automatic starter - thank goodness we weren't out somewhere when it wouldn't start for us!

We also enjoy wilderness camping. This one of our favorite spots 50 miles from the nearest town...no phone, no tv and no internet...woo hoo.

Both spots look real good, however I don't think the DW could go a night without her HGTV...or is it I couldn't go a night without cell and internet.

You are so right about Virginia this time of year, it doesn't get any better then this. And dry camping with no others around is the best.
That is one beautiful piece of land you have there, what area of Virginia is that?

In the winter when our favorite spot is under 6 feet of snow we like this dry camping spot in Arizona. Very quiet and great sunsets.

Ive been waiting for my bear to appear. I know he is here, I've got pictures on the game cam and bear droppings at my site. So far I've just seen one deer.

David,
I was going to comment earlier, but got busy, then sidetracked, then forgot (damned old age)... But looking at your pictures, that's an awesome site to spend a few days away from the hustle and bustle of the city...
But, even more remarkable, in one of the pictures, there's a little one headed toward a new adventure... It's hard to believe that's the same little one you were announcing not too long ago, when you and your DW took him on his first camping trip at about 1 week of age.... My how time flies

John,
He has definitely been camping all of his life. He can claim, as Johnny Cash did, I've been everywhere. Indeed, his first outing was at five days of age, and his bed was the pullout drawer beneath the sofa.

That's so pretty, I want to find some places like yours to do some dry camping . . .
So far only places I do dry is Hampton Lodge Campground in Coinjock NC for star party weekend & North Bend Campground (federal ACE's) in the winter near Kerr Dam, though that's not really dry, since they allow camping on one loop and supply electric only for the winter (FCFS only)
. . . . Phone Home ET . . . .
