Well maybe he should have a tandem rear axle!

Why pay for an extra axle on toll roads or run another 4 tires if not needed?

My neighbor at the storage yard is running a class 8 like that with his big custom 5th wheel... I think he said it was 20K pounds

Might be a pain at tight campgrounds when someone is across from you

I am envious of the size of the fuel tank.

No, I don't think there is anything wrong with that tow vehicle, but I think he's got too much trailer. He needs to go with a smaller trailer! He'll be 100% safe then!

Surprised he doesn't use a day cab since he's got his own sleeping quarters in the 5er...

Me too. I stop every 150 to 200 miles weather I want to or not when I am towing. I have no idea why ford put a 26 gallon tank on a super duty.

That's a molded body, maybe he already owned it or got a heck of a deal... but you're right it would have saved him several inches and pounds to drop the double sleeper..

In 2009 we went over the upper deck of the George Washington bridge in NYC. Toll lady leaned out -“is that a dually”? Yup, that counts as an extra axle…trailer tandem axle? Yup… toll was $36.00.

Yup, back in 2009 or so I'd leave home, go up I95 to the GW Bridge, up the island and up to Boston. Return trip down the GSP (Garden State Parkway) with stops and several nights in hotels. Wasn't unusual to turn in a expense report with well over $100 in tolls for a car. I was sooooo glad when the GSP went to EzPass. Seemed like every 1/4 mile was a 25 cent toll. I would get a fresh roll of quaters before every trip.

The new models have a bigger tank. I think mine is 34 or 36 gallons, hated the 26G tank on my 2011.

No doubt, it gets tight with a full size pickup truck at some places.

I just upsized my fuel tank with a Titan 50 gallon, did it myself, kit was super easy. I hated the 26 gallon tank also. I love this one till I have to fill it $$.

It hurts to fill it but costs the same when you have to fill the 26G tk 2 times in the same distance.
