Got the trailer back a week ago for a weekend out at Bow Valley PP. Unfortunately, turned out to be the last trip for our old Shepherd, but at least she got one last adventure.

It was a great weekend and the trailer held up well.

The dealer was yet to fix everything, so we added another couple of items to their list though

The awning had developed a tear where it was rolled up against the LED strip, we also found a dent in the tube. Given we hadnt unrolled it yet, that was a bit of a suprise.

We also found the screen door didn't stay shut on it's own.

Good news today though. Got a call from the dealer that ALL previous items have been replaced and/or fixed.

The AC didn't have a seal, so one was added. The scratched doors were replaced. The pinched water pipe was the Sani-flush, so they opened it up and replaced the section of pipe.

Only remaining item was the awning replacement and Keystone approved that today.

All in all, the Dealer and Keystone have been great and we now have a great trailer ready to roll for many more adventures. Will be back out again next week!

Simple upgrades...

While we wait for the dealer to get the remaining parts (bedroom door, awning) and close-out our PDI issues, it's time to get a couple of simple, easy upgrades done...

First up, level bubble!

Followed that with a screw on last-chance dump valve... Don't ask me why I realized I needed this

Solar Install!

Now for something more fun.... Solar!

2x330w Panels up on the roof (only 1 hooked up until I get an extra set of MC4s) :

Run down through the closet:

Straight into the pass-through:

Added in a battery monitor for good measure.... Left the single G27 battery on the toungue for now. Will upgrade to lithium in the pass-through next year.

All in took about 4hrs...

Solar - Part 2

Took the solar out for the weekend.

Pushing 13.6A into the battery in full-sun with only 1 panel hooked up. Even getting 4A when cloudy.

Charged my single battery in a couple of hours AND more than covered the vent-fan, lights, water-pump and device charging during the day.

Cpap

Without an inverter just yet, I wanted a way to run my CPAP when we do not have hook-ups...

Added a 12v car-lighter by the bed:

And found a 12v-24v adapter on Amazon for CAD70. Much cheaper than batteries or travel CPAP machines:

With furnace, CPAP, fridge (on propane), we used only 20% of the 100AH battery overnight. Gives us 2 and a bit day's leeway, with more than enough solar to refill.

Looking forward to bigger batteries and an inverter, but for now this will do

Been out a few times in this unit now... Loving our family adventures.

And last weekend introduced our newest family member to camping

Had to re-seal the fridge grill on the outside side-wall, and have started to de-badge (getting rid of "Hideout" and dealer labels, etc.) but other than that, I think we are getting there!

that is awesome. I am just finishing up my inverter and solar install on my 2017 hideout. So excited to have full power without dealing with the generator.
