A/C Noise
Search found nothing on A/C noise.
How can the A/C noise be made "QUIET".
What have you tried and what works? I don't expect it to stop (the only way to do that is shut it off) but make it so I can at least watch TV with out everyone within 50 feet hearing it also.

Depending on what make your A/c is, this is a cheap device that increases airflow and can dampen some of the noise.

I'm not sure about cheap. $170 for a large piece of styrofoam and a couple of vent inserts is not exactly cheap

Ah heck, keep your windows closed and buy a good sound bar. That is cheaper than the styrofoam cut out anyway.

I wish you luck but I've never owned a trailer with an overhead AC that we didn't have to shout to be heard over (except for our existing Whisper Quiet - or whatever it's called). Back in the day a TV was no issue....there was none. As we've become more spoiled we used to just turn it up to where we could at least understand. A sound bar might be the answer as George suggested.

Look into a product by WackO Products
I did some research on a product by WackO Products. I installed a sound bar but the AC was still causing me to raise the volume. I ordered the air distributor by WackO Products. I am scheduled to get it tomorrow. The reviews say the decrease in the dB level is amazing. I hope it works for us.

Welcome to the forum. The issue I find most distracting from the WackO silencer is that you lose the "dump/quick cool" feature from the air conditioner. We rely on that feature to cool down our trailer when we first arrive at a campsite. Once cool, then we close it, but without it, we'd be sweating for a lot longer in the main cabin.....

It's not a pocket fisherman or a microwave popcorn popper, but it sure "fits the mold" for being something Ron Popeil would market LOL https://wackoproducts.com/

I think they must have taken a marketing lesson from Ron. They basically sell 2 prodiucts, a portable grill (that looks like it's rebranded ) ajnd the a/c silencer. With that hughe product line they are selling promo stuff. Gotta love it!

Wow, that’s a blast from the past. Brought up memories of the Ronco food processesor. It slices, it dices, it makes Jullienne fries. Fifty years later I’m still trying to figure out what jullienne fries are?!?

Yep, their $750 <HOLY SMOKES LOOK AT THAT PRICE> "take it or leave it" PROFESSIONAL grill does look very much like the $99 Sam's Club Member's Mark grill I bought 3 or 4 years ago. It even has the same latches to keep the lid closed LOL

A/C quiet
I'm trying to get ready for a 6500 mile round trip but just wonder how Covid will change my plans.
THANKS for the information. Going to look into whats out there and hope to get one before I leave. I will just stay a few days at one stop and install it on my trip. I will let you know what one I pick out and how it works as soon as I can. Thanks a lot for the help and taking me back 40 years (or more) and the memories.

If you stay in states that haven't gone overboard on their covid responses (a handful) you won't have any issues. We've not encountered anything to hinder us when traveling across the southern states this past summer or this winter. I do however refuse to travel to some states.
I will also say that you might want to do some research with real people in the areas you intend to visit to get the "real scoop". We've got good friends in MI that did not come to FL this year because of a required surgery but as they communicated with us every few days, they were being told (or under the impression) that 1)most state borders were closed and it was next to impossible to travel and that 2)FL had covid running rampant because folks here weren't being quarantined forever; both totally false. They were surprised. If you stay in the areas we do you will find that life is pretty much normal except you put on a mask when the occasion requires it (not much).

I greatly reduced the noise in ours by removing the bottom part of the unit which is really just a plenum with various outlets. I bought some thin foam rubber sheets that have an adhesive back and I covered all the surfaces in the plenum with it, especially where the air must "turn" which created turbulence and therefore noise. This made it where we can watch TV and be cool at the same time and we don't have to shout at each other anymore if the AC is on. Good luck.

Interesting. I wonder where they live in Michigan because I hadn’t been told either of those things from any reliable news sources here. The only border I know of being closed to routine travel is our Canadian border.
