First trip with new trailer
We picked our new trailer (outback 340bh) up Tuesday last week and Friday went off to the Adirondack mountains.
First off trailer pulled great no issues at all. I was a little worried as it's a bit heavy and never towed such a load.
Our first issue we encountered Friday night, went to take some stuff out from under bed storage and the hydraulic ripped the plywood from the hinges at 1230am. Saturday took hydraulic off and needs to be fixed.
Next had water come into the till from the rain, looks like it came from under the catch or something. That will be worked on tomorrow.
Overall a very good time and glad so far no major issues.

Your comment regarding "water come into the till" did not make much sense to me. Can you amplify?

You might also expound on the "hydraulic ripped the plywood from the hinges". I'm not sure what that means. If the gas struts for the plywood platform ripped the brace for the brackets off....I've had that happen 3 times. Look at how that brace is attached; little, worthless wood screws into porous wood.

Sourdough, that is exactly what happened. I'm looking at how to make them more sturdy. When I saw the screws that held them in I wasn't to schocked they ripped out. Wiredgeorge I opened it in the morning and there was water in it. As I was looking around I saw what looked like the water seeping in right around where it would latch closed.

The attachments for that brace are disgraceful. I take threaded screws appropriate length, with washers on top and bottom, drill holes through the "brace bar" piece of wood, insert them and put a nylock nut on the end. Not had one fail after that.

Sourdough, did you have any issues with the gas struts, they seem not to want to compress back down at all.

I've always had to add higher pressure struts because they were weak. I've not had to deal with struts so strong they required manual intervention.
We did however just have a member that had a similar problem with the struts being too strong and had to get some lighter weight ones.

I also am at a loss as to where the 'till' might be on an RV.

Thanks for defining the "till", I was thinking that water had gotten into a cash box.
