Satellite wiring in Avalanche 5th wheel

I have a 2019 Avalanche 375 RD and have read several articles about satellite feed not working because of splitters in system. I recently got a Tailgater pro King and a wally from Dish and before I go to Gulf I need to know if I need to rewire the coax. In other words bypass the splitters.

Welcome to the forum. I would test it in the driveway, that way you will know if your unit was wired wrong. Does it have KeyTV?

He has a dish and a wally... why use a tester. Hook it up and check it and if it doesn't work, put a bulkhead on the outside next to your entertainment center and hook up through that connector.

Satellite Wiring on Avalanche 375 RD

I am going to hook up the satellite next month before I carry down in April. Just trying to get some info before I do. Thanks for the comments.

I don't think I have Key TV. I don't have booster box in compartment. I did locate 1 splitter and it is a 2.4 Ghz. Other splitter is hidden in wall it looks like.

Your 2019 Avalanche should have key TV. It’ll say right on the connection in the docking station. The main thing with Key RV is there are fewer splitters and your coax is already R6. Also no booster switch, it does it automatically. Just hook up and try it

Satellite Wiring on Avalanche 375 RD

No where on hook up panel or in compartment does it say Key TV. However all coax I have found is RG6 cable. Mine is an early 2019 edition. they may have added Key TV after that. I wish I had access to other splitters. I am going to hook up Tailgater next week and try. Will post results.

Can you post a picture of the panel where you hook up the coax?

Cool Satellite wiring

Well I got my Wally turned on and running. Signal will not play through the prewired satellite connections on my Avalanche. Too many splitters. I have started running individual lines to living room, bedroom, and outside connection. I will install 2 seperate satellite hookups in compartment and label. Surely if Keystone executives owned one and wanted satellite, they would fix this problem. Key TV is supposed to fix problem but I'm hearing it is not much different.

The pic of your sat and cable hookups is identical to mine. You do have an OTA power button located somewhere that has to be off if using cable.

My DTV dish hooks up directly to the same connection as yours labeled SAT..

The jumper cable behind main TV set was removed and receiver connected to upper RF connection and then fed HDMI from receiver to TV set.. solid pic

I’d check the jumper wall plate panel by removing it and verifying RG6 is connected properly.

It will work for the main TV set if the RF connection behind the SAT port in water access panel is good and also connected properly at dual plug port on the wall. It’s a direct feed... at least my 2014 is.

On my Raptor it was in the bedroom on the ceiling by the crank up antennae, on the GFs Crusader it's on the wall behind the main TV and rather subtle, on the motorhome it's on the BOMB, Box of Many Buttons in the entertainment center. You may have to hunt this thing down.

I made sure that it the antenna was off. Finished running direct lines to 3 TVs. I'll put out pics when finished completely. It was hard to hide all cables though.

I'm curious how this all works out for you.
We recently got a 2012 Cougar and have resorted to watching dvds because we can't quite figure out what we need to do to get our DirecTV to work.

I gave up trying and put a cable thru wall connector in the wall right next to the entertainment center. After owning this rig for three years I didn't feel bad about drilling thru the outer wall. I'm just running the simple Dish box so I have a splitter for the two TV's one in the living room, one in the bedroom.

Try all the sat to see if they work the biggest problem is that the connection are not tight. I found this with my 2017 avalanche I found every connection loose. With evey splitter you will have a 3 db drop and every 100 feet. I am not sure of the drop with plain connection.

I have a 2019 Keystone Avalanche 382FL 5th Wheel and because it is stationed long term, I had a fixed satellite dish installed outside. The cable technician who installed the dish and the receiver said that he could not use the coax terminal on the wall because Keystone uses splitters and to get it to work right he needed a dedicated coax cable connection, so we wormed a new cable in along the slide and ran a new coax cable direct from the dish to receiver. Works perfectly.
