Popping noise

Hey guys, my fuzion 414 chrome is set up on a seasonal site and i keep hearing a poping sound. I think its the landing gear. I have retracted and auto leveled a couple time and its still doing it. When the jacks were retracted, i checked the fluid level and its good. Anyone else had this problem? I dont see any visual signs of a leak.

This is a known problem with kippers 6 point systems. There is a maintenance bulletin that they put out about it (sorry I don't have time to look for it right now). You should be able to find it with a google search or someone else may pos it. If I remember correctly, they recommend adding mineral oil to the fluid and it cures the problem in most cases. I don't remember how much you add though, but it wasn't much

I have read about this issue for the last few years or more. Would think by now they would be doing this from the factory, or the dealers should be taking care of this when they take delivery. Seems to me this would make for a much better customer experience not have to deal with this after purchase.

There was never a recall issued by Keystone on the "popping noise from autolevel system". Lippert, to my knowledge also never issued a recall (for all units with the system installed). Rather it was a "service advisory bulletin" issued by Lippert which stated "IF" the system develops a "popping noise" to add one quart of "fork oil" to the system.

You can read about Lippert's response and forum members experiences in this thread: http://www.keystoneforums.com/forums...hlight=popping Specifically, read the information provided by BobBecky in post #5 of that thread. It's almost "ancient history" now as the Lippert action was from 2013 and the thread on this forum was from 2015.

Hopefully this will fix your popping issue, if not, then you might want to have the system inspected by your dealer. There may be something else causing your particular system popping.

Good Luck

I heard the same popping noise on our maiden voyage with our new 2016 Alpine last week. It was only when the legs were on gravel. I was thinking it was possibly just some shifting. Trailer remained level at all times, don't think the system was actually doing anything. Will have to read the old thread myself.

We had the same "popping" noise on a regular basis. I purchased 4 quarts of Valvoline (pick your own brand). Syphoned out 4 quarts/replaced with the new... problem solved! I just felt better doing this than an "additive!" Oh remember is may take several cycles of your level system to introduce the new oil thoroughly.
