Remote control panel problems

We're having trouble with the remote control panel. The manual controls stopped working a year ago, but the remote still worked. Now we're having a problem similar to the breaker issue that we had with the slides' under-sized resetting circuit breaker.

The issue now is that everything is tripping out on a resetting circuit breaker. Whether it's the slides, landing gear or stabilizers - they operate for 5 seconds and then trip. After 5 seconds I can hear the "click" resetting the breaker and then it works for 2 seconds. As you can imagine, it takes a long time to put the slides in or out. Unfortunately it doesn't appear to be any of the external breakers. The resetting "click" noise seems to be coming out of the control panel. Has anyone had an issue with this? I don't see a manuf. name or part # on it either.

Try doing a forum search for what others who have had similar issues with the control panel have to say. I believe many of these problems have been reported by Cougar owners. Type in "Remote control panel" or "Control Panel" and see what posts/threads turn up for you to browse through.

Thanks Festus2. I tried that and didn't get anything helpful. On a fluke, I replaced the battery in the remote and that did the trick. I know low battery in the rig can cause this problem, but it seems that a low battery in the remote control does the same thing.

Now if I can just figure out why none of my manual controls work. Three separate switches - one inside for the slides, the one in the back for the stabilizers, and the main control for the landing gear. Must be something blown somewhere, but I haven't been able to locate it.

There is a 40 Amp fuse in an "inline fuse holder" in the pink wire on the main landing gear. Some members have reported that they could only raise the landing gear with the remote and found that fuse blown. If you don't know where it is, to find it, follow the pink wire from the landing gear motor (the harness is protected by a split coil wire loom) until you come to a "big bump" in the wire loom. There you should find the inline fuse holder and hopefully a blown fuse... Replace it and you should be good to go.

Now, if this doesn't work for you, I won't send a bill.....

Here are a few threads to get you started:

Here are pictures of the inline fuse and the 30 amp circuit breaker with the red cover and without the red cover.

The circuit breaker is the smaller of the two red devices. It's the one with the three wires and the buss bar attached to it. Yours will not have the buss bar.
