I have to run it twice for either tank.

Couldn't you get the larger fuel tank or wasn't it offered? Mine is 36 gallons.

It does make it nice for the trips, but when filling it up I usually have to "pay at the pump" twice or with a different card.

Only took 1 3/4 tanks to get to Tennessee (or back from, depending on perspective), so that equals 1 stop. Last time with the 26 gal, it took 2 stops.

Just to clarify, I realize he has a superduty and I don't, just wondered if there was a specific reason they didn't offer that upgraded tank size.

The fuel tank on fords is based on the bed size and I currently have a short bed.

I don’t like to do this normally but you can usually go inside and pay ahead of time for it and they will override the $75 cutoff…I read that they have it because the credit card company’s give a $75 threshold for charge backs if some one uses a fraudulent card

I had a brand new 1990 f150 lariat, all black with a silver stripe along the bottom and the aluminum wheels …it was a pretty truck… it had dual fuel tanks…just flip a switch when you were getting low and you were back to a full tank lol…dual 19 gallon tanks I believe

Guess it all depends on the driver..your right he is probably good at getting that thing in tight places and the wider track turning may help…does look longer then 23’ to me …im just getting used to my 3500 dually 8’ bed..big difference from my shortbed srw….wish I could have found an f450 as the turning radius is tighter..I put a little over 4000 miles on my truck since December and most of that was my winter Florida trip…my truck sits in the driveway most of the time but headed out Friday for a few days

I think it depends on the year. I have a 2009 F150 KR and it's I think 29 gal. IIRC the next year Ford reduced the tank size and received a lot of blow back. At least that's how I remecall it but then again my "recollet'n" ain't what it once was.
