New member Springdale 253fwre

Hello everyone. Back to rv'ing after 30 year absence. Kids all grown and looking at retirement in a couple of years. Just bought a new fifth wheel Springdale 253.

Thanks for the warm welcome. I have been lurking around the other areas of the forum and after looking at some of the posts in the service and complaints section I am getting worried. I'm not sure I would have bought my Springdale had I seen all this before. I understand the Springdale is a less expensive RV and I expect to fine tune some things to make everything work like I want it to but sure hope I have better luck than some others. I have found several things that were not up to par like the TV mount screws not screwed into anything backing them up inside the wall. The bottom screws were in solid wood but the top screws were only in the paneling. I dropped the mount about three inches to get all six screws into solid wood which fixed the problem. That is just one of several things I've already taken care of and most everything else is OK. Please tell me there are many more owners having good luck with their keystone RV's!

Don't fret, even the big money units have issues. Fix what you can and enjoy yourself

Our first fifth wheel was a Springdale. It was probably the least problematic RV we've ever owned. The only issue we had was a refrigerator failure (Dometic's issue, not Keystone) and then the tree that fell on it and destroyed the roof. Other than that, we would still be camping in it. We had it for 4 years and other than "piddling" with things and changing out bulbs to LED, those types of things, it was every bit as good an RV as our Cougar.

Enjoy it, don't worry about the things that "might" go wrong, just have fun breaking the things you can with use, not with cleaning dust off it every spring LOL

Oh, and welcome to the forum !!!!!

to the forum from W TX! Enjoy that new RV and have fun. Don't worry too much about Keystone. From my research they're not any worse than any other RV manufacturer and better than most.
