Slide hydraulic pump

I was running my slides in tonight and the pump started to squeal bad under load. If you separate the slides and run them one at a time the pump sounds normal but if you try to run all slides in their normal sequence (all valves open) the pump squeals loudly. I can touch the pump and feel the squeal also. Anybody have any suggestions on what the cause may be? She is a 2012 Avalanche 341TG.

Thanks,
Glenn

Have you checked the fluid level in the pump/hyd tank (Reservoir). I am speaking mainly from hydraulic experience and not on your trailer.

When a pump is squealing as you state; this is from lack of oil in the pump or the pressure relief valve is opening and what you hear is the oil pressure going over the relief valve. Another problem is there could be air in the system and when you are working the pump hard cavation is taking place due to air and or lack of oil, hard to say base on your description.

I would check your hydraulic hoses for any leaking of fluid or the hydraulic motor that the pump drives to bring in your slide. There could be a cut seal that is allowing air to enter the hydraulic circuit and this will lead to cavation of the pump. I would also look for low oil levels in your system since the pump works fine with one just slide at a time being moved.

This is all a guest based on s squealing pump noise that you have described.

X2 ON WHAT Jim stated. but if i may add Check your fluid level with all the slides in or you will have an oil tsunami when the tank overflows
