Special fastener for RV wall?

Is there some kind of a special fastener for an RV wall. The wall is 1/8" luan I think or Masonite for interior walls. I saw something mentioned in a post but can't find it searching. Probably some sort of compression device I think. I want to support a few pounds or Kgs so command strips are out since they don't adhere all that well to the plastic textured surface of my walls.

If you are wanting a solid connection, look for this tool, Heavy Duty Metal Setting Tool, Paick Hollow Wall Metal Cavity Anchor Plasterboard Fixing, on Amazon and use the anchors for the thinnest wall material. I’ve installed several of this style of anchor without the tool, and the anchors just spin. The tool will expand the anchors without turning them so you will have the solid mounting you are looking for.

Thanks for the info. My fear is that tool is for inserting a fastener with a tiny head. The thin wall material needs a much larger bearing surface. I could add a properly sized fender washer I suppose.
Hopefully the person who posted the special fastener will see this and post again.

This is what I use on heavier items: https://www.homedepot.com/p/Hillman-...6254/202243046

I've used this type of hollow wall anchor to mount a full-length mirror on the bathroom door and a three-towel rack on the wall.

This fastener has been used on RV's to attach objects to the walls:

I have used the ones on post #5 for hanging many things in our rig.

I've had great success with the Hillman 1/8" pop toggles.

The tool I referenced in post #2 is used to expand the anchors referenced in post #5, instead of needing to tighten the screw to expand them. I’ve used some in our rig, and had a hard time keeping the anchor from turning while tightening the screw, but the tool just pulls up on the screw so the wings inside the wall expand without having to turn the screw.

I use Jack Nuts. They're kind of like Nutserts only for wood etc rather than steel.

I've used 6-32 and lately 10-24 sizes. They're available from Amazon etc. They do NOT need a tool to install them, but do leave a flange on the outside surface of the wall. When using them to install wood items, I just countersink the rear side of the part to fit OVER the flange and there's no big deal.

I can attest to how strongly they hold up as I installed a wire basket on the bathroom wall of our bedroom for the wife to put her iPad and charger etc. When we got ready to put our Raptor into storage last week, I looked around for open doors etc and also looked on both sides of the bed... BUT the wife had hung an over the door hanging rack on the wire basket. Since it was darker in the bedroom I did not notice the brown over the door rack hanging on the front of the wall iPad basket. So I put in the slides and the bedroom slide is usually the first to go in as it's the lightest. Well while watching up the hallway into the bedroom, the bed stopped moving in and the other two slides in the living area started to move in. This did not register with me at that point, but the slide in the bedroom had caught the over the door hanger and started to pull on the wire basket that I had, I say HAD, 6-32 jack nuts holding it to the wall. So with a little more wait, I heard some breakage type noise from the bedroom and stopped. I backed out the slides a bit and at that time I saw that the wall basket had been ripped from the wall and deeply scratched the wood trim on the bed slide. The wire hanger and wall basket were badly bent beyond repair and were made from very heavy metal. One of the jack nuts finally pulled out of the wall leaving a slightly now oversize hole in the luan…

I should be able to replace the old ripped out one with a larger 10-24 jack nut, but the wood trim is really scratched. Rookie mistake for sure!!!

Here's a thread about using the 10-24 jack nuts for installing my hand rail.

Wellnuts are another possibility.

One would only have to look at the thickness of the wall to determine those might be a WEE bit long...lol..

I've not been happy with command hooks... have never had even one stay up regardless of how much you prep the surface... short of sandpaper...

I tend to use the belt and suspenders route. I use a stud finder to locate the studs. I mount a finish board to span the studs and then attach whatever needs attaching. The various devices mentioned previously are only as strong as the wall surface material. Might be strong enough, might not.
