F250 Super Duty Jack adequate
All,
Is the OEM jack in my 2016 F250 adequate or do I just step past that and strap a bottle jack in its place?

I have both in my trucks. The bottle jack is the go too jack for me.

Ken,
Do you mind sharing what size bottle jack you got? Also why carry both? Thanks Scott

Standard jack is under the back seat, so it stays there. Bottle jack is in the tool box in the bed, along with jack stands. I find a bottle jack easier to use.
I think mine is 5 ton or something. Princess Auto deal (Cdn Harbor freight).

I was very unhappy with the OEM jack that came with my truck. I also carry a 4ton bottle jack, but that wouldn’t lift the truck high enough. Now I carry some wood to get the bottle jack higher and a floor jack (a lot of people didn’t like the floor jack addition but I like having it). There are more details in this video-

The factory screw jacks work, they just take too long. In the last truck the handle was under the hood and the engine needed to cool down before removing it or it would and did burn my hands. On the 2002 f350, I had 1 size over 285/75/16 vs 265/75/16s. When a rear went flat I needed to take a tire off the front, put spare on it and change out the rear flat. Having 2 jacks in the truck made that happen easier. The bottle jack maybe a 3 ton also used on trailer. A few blocks of 2x6s placed under it makes it work. At home the floor jack makes life even easier, for me it is to big and heavy to take on the road.
Floor jack and bottle jack purchased at HF, both still working great.

I keep a Harbor Freight 12 ton in the bed of the truck, got it on sale for <$25. Feels good and solid under the truck and enough capacity to jack up the camper.

Howdy All;
I use the OEM jack in my '04 diesel. 3 times used 2 rear and 1 front.
No problems. Not in a race so speed isn't a consideration. Worked
fine.
