This thread has got off topic because I tried to provide some REAL numbers. I appoligize to Blacktail and the MOD's for this. I an effort to help out and provide the OP with information so they could make there OWN choice.

I still say buy a diesel. What brand? Who cares. As long as your happy, it just don't matter.

Yep, you won't go wrong with any of the big 3 and you will love the diesel.

No apologies needed CarKath. Like some threads on the forum, they take on a life of their own and go every which way. This thread's original topic and the question about "which truck" or "which kind of truck", always come back to your observation. Doesn't matter which brand as long as you are pleased with what you have and it works for you. The answer seems to be always the same, doesn't it? Perhaps we can put this thread to bed and move on to the next topic.........

Jason, My truck is a 4x4 and with 34.5"tires...my computer showed 14.0MPG and checking it at the pump...13.8MPG. We took a trip up to the mountains and it dropped to 13.3. Not bad cosidering dry weight of 13,590. We were loaded with a golf cart and 4 people on our trip...Love my Dodge!

Has your speedo been calibrated for the tires? That is a good 1.5 mpg better than any mileage reports ever I've seen for a 6.7. Especially with Bully Dog tuning. Smarty has been the traditional mileage winner for 6.7's.

Blacktail, the original poster for this thread, wanted some input whether he should consider switching to diesel from gas. He has received numerous replies and suggestions and his question has been fully answered.

The most recent posts are now dealing with another topic altogether so this thread is being closed.

Thank you for your input.
