New Hitch

My steel version weighs 75#. This new aluminum version weighs 32# and is rated for the same weight. This has to be good for those with "payload anxiety" and the desire for a quick, hernia reducing hitch removal.

Amazing..... I'm surprised that there are not more of us using this product. So far, I have not found one thing bad about mine. At first, it was a little tricky lining up to the coupler but now its a breeze. Five minutes to install, five minutes to remove. Great product

The only issue I see is having to change your pin box. To retain the frame warranty from lippert you have to use the Reese Goose Box and it ain't cheap.

When you add it all up, unless payload weight is the issue, it's cheaper to stay with traditional style.
Not saying it isn't nice, but I can spend the $$ on better things.

No need to change the pinbox. The anderson comes with an adapter tongi over the kingpin

I didn't see where it was included in the price. And I didn't see where it was approved by lippert to retain the frame warranty.

The pin adapter is included. They also have a rail version, and it doesn't affect any warranties. If you already have the rails or the gooseneck ball, this the least expensive, lightest and easiest hitch to remove.

I stand corrected then. From a weight standpoint I can see where 32 lbs. Instead of 75-100 would be better. Thanks for clearing it up.

I have it in writing from Lippert that the warranty is intact with using this hitch. Received that before I bought it and talked with an engineer also. Only thing to keep in mind is that in some states, one of which I travel in, requires safety chains. Anderson has additional hardware for this also.

The B&W Companion (20,000# capacity) weighs 206# with the base and coupler. This new, aluminum Andersen (24,000# capacity) weighs 32#. I find the weight difference astounding while accomplishing the same task. Even considering the Reese Goosebox weight and price, the Andersen comes out on top even with the less expensive, 75# steel version. I think they have a winner.

I agree. I am using my 14K Robbins for now, weighs about 50 Lbs. If I get a newer TV I will look into the Anderson.

The rail mount version sparks my attention. Pretty interesting, I like it. Just seems like it would crush!!! I know it won't.

Anderson has a video on thier website of thier crush test which was quite impressive. Two other nice features of this hitch is no need for grease and when not in the truck, can acually hange on the wall of the garage.

The convenience factor is a plus. no more fork lift to take out!!! And when I need to use the back of truck I can.

FWIW..... Just read that the new Aluminum Anderson 5ver Hitch is 4" lower in height and designed for flat beads and high rise pickups.

I switched to the Andersen Ultimate 5th Wheel hitch to help lower the weight in my bed. It really is an amazing setup. So much simpler than traditional hitches. I have the rail mount steel version and it only weighs 40 lbs! The gooseneck version weighs 75 lbs.
