City Water Flange to Fill Aux Tank??

Hi all,

I'm adding an auxiliary fresh water tank to my Raptor 381. It is in no way tied to the existing fresh water system, I will be using a pump to transfer water when needed. Anyway, I'm wondering if I can use a city water flange to fill the tank, so long as I have a vent line also. The city water flange is smaller and uses much smaller hose than the gravity fill plate, giving me more mounting options. What do you guys think?

By city water flange, if you mean the standard garden hose hookup, that's the way Keystone set mine up. It feeds a 1/2" hose to the tank. The tank returns an overflow line (1/2") plus a 1 1/4" vent line. That allows a quick fill (10 min) of the 66 gallon tank.

Isn't that 1 1/4" line the gravity fill line? That's how my stock tank is and that is what I have always used to fill it. I guess what I am suggesting is a garden hose flange (that's what a city water hookup is) with 1/2" or 3/4" hose to fill the auxiliary tank. The tank would also have a 1/2" or 3/4" vent line. so, just the two lines.

No, there isn't a gravity fill line in my Alpine, just the city water fill. The 1 1/4" is a vent line and is labeled so. It may seem too large but I believe it's the reason the tank fills so fast.

And also the 1/2" overflow line.

Yeah, I happen to stumble upon one of your other posts with pics today. Crazy, never seen a vent like that before.
