A few new mods....

Finally did the Lexan mod to the screen door. I hated the fact that I couldn't run the heat or air with the screen door open and with it closed it blocked off such a beautiful view. I was able to take the Lexan and cut it to fit a pre existing slot in the screen door. I used a few small pieces of 3M Command strips just to hold the bottom in on both pieces.
The Bottom piece is easy removed and replaced for ventilation but the top one was tricky so I have elected for it to remain installed. Total cost was $45.00 for the lexan.
I also was awake at the crack of dawn because the sun would shine right through our blinds. We bought some black out curtains and some spring rods and my DW measured, cut and sewed them to size and after putting them on the spring rods I just placed them under the valance. They work great and are a breeze to remove and restore. Thinking I will keep the smaller ones on all the time and only remove the larger one if need be. Total cost $18.00. All in all both projects turned out very pleasing!

Nice job Justlkn. I did the same mod on my door. The bottom piece keeps popping out of the groves when the wind blows. I think I will try the 3M strips. Thanks for the info.

michol02 mine was too so I put these in a few places. I just cut them really small and they work really well and don't look so bad.

Thanks for the 3M tip for the Lexan. I have a handful of the 3M strips in my trailer's tool drawer. Now I know what to do with one of them. The bottom center of my Lexan pops around a bit.

Hey, I noticed in the pic of your screen door you have the clear circle in the plastic slide that lets you open the door from the inside without moving the plastic, was it on the camper when you bought it or did you add it? we just bought a 2013 cougar 324 RLB and I'd love to put one on our door so the kids (and us) don't have to let the bugs in everytime we want to go outside....

Elstonian it came from the manufacturer like that. I thought I remember someone saying somewhere you could add those after market. I know that doesn't help much but I will see if I can find the link.

I did the same thing to my screen door and could not keep it in place with clips. I bought a tube of clear silicon caulk and went around the edges and never had anymore problems with it falling out and you really don't notice the clear caulk. We then put up a magnet screen and leave the screen door open when we want more air. Seems to work fine for us... Jay
