Post Slide out not working

I haven't found this problem with any other posts in this forum. We have a 2010 Outback 5th wheel and the large living room slide will not slide out. It makes the clicking sound that normally happens at the end of the slide out process, but won't move. We have confirmed it's coming from below the slide where the motor is located, but the exterior floor of the camper doesn't have an opening for access. We found a flap that appeared to be where the opening should be, but the material under the flap hasn't been cut open. Any suggestions about what may have happened to cause the slide not to work but to make the loud clicking noise? We have tried pushing on the slide from the inside while pressing the slideout button, but it doesn't feel at all like it's going to give to our pressure. thanks!

That flap that you describe is the access area for the slide motor and where you would place a socket on it to manually operate. First remove bolts and dummy square. Using a utility knife, cut a 3 sided square opening to create a flap opening to access the mechanism. You should then be able to shine a light inside and see what is going on and/or operate it manually. It sounds as if something is binding causing the clutch to do its job, or the clutch mechanism itself is bad.

Let us know how you make out.

Had a similar issue on our Cougar. If you look under the slide, near the outside edge, you will see a bell shaped stop on the end of the threaded actuator. If you back off the jam nut, you can use a large pipe wrench or a stout strap style wrench to loosen the bell stop. Mark the actuator rod so you can reposition the stop when you are done. Loosening the stop will allow the room to move out. Do a search, as there are other threads. That is where I learned how to do this

Problem solved

We moved the camper to our house and it worked there. Not sure if the process of moving it straightened out something that was bound or if hooking it up to the truck juiced up the battery and allowed it to work. (But the other two slides were moving in and out easily) We are back in business. Thanks for all your replies for help.

You probably had a low (nearly discharged) battery and there just wasn't enough "juice" to move the slide. One other possibility is that somehow your RV chassis was "tweeked" just enough to bind the slide and when you moved it, the "tweek" realigned itself. My bet would be the low battery. Glad it's working again, so now, back to camping
