Hard lesson learned

While Pulling through a campground in Northern California when the driveway became narrow and worrying about the side clearance I failed to notice the height clearance and brushed a low hanging tree branch against the edge of the roof. It turns out to be a very costly mistake and thank goodness for Insurance. I have learned a hard lesson of always looking up as well as to the sides when driving through parks and campgrounds. Turns out the whole roof needs to be replaced.

Oh, crud. That's annoying that campgrounds don't clear the roadways for the rigs they host.

Does it help to say "been there, done that?" I failed to look up when turning a tight corner in MT and caught the back cap of our fiver with a protruding awning. I was watching the curb so I wouldn't hit it. It pulled the whole back cap right off the trailer. $10,000 later and a month layover in Boise, ID, it was fixed. Like you, insurance luckily paid most of it.

We all do it sometime...good luck getting it fixed and back on the road!

My hubby and I usually share the 'looking out' duties.

He does the sides and I do the trees........

I've always been paranoid we'll rip something off!

We were in Indiana on some back road last weekend when it dawned on I have this MONSTER following me and slowed down just in time to have a broken limb hanging down. Managed to get around it but it was a wakeup that I wasn't paying all that much attention
