Grease zerks in front 5th wheel landing gear also motor seems to struggle
I have a 2012 High Country Cougar 5th wheel and my front landing gear goes up real slow and struggles not like it use to be not sure if its the motor or what. I was watching a few videos and found out that the landing legs have grease zerks I have never greased them How much grease does a person put in their how many pumps on a grease gun and how often ?
Also would it help in my case to replace the landing gear motor everything else seems to work just goes real slow going up and seems to struggle like it does not have enough power.

I would put about 4 or 5 pumps of grease. As far as running slow, you need to test the voltage and amps going to the motor. There might be a tag on the motor stating how many amps it’s rated for. Using a DC amp clamp measure the draw when operating the landing gear. That will tell you if the motor is getting old and tired.

Hey Chuckster,
I was unhooking my 2012 copper canyon and it seemed like as soon as the motor had a load on it (no weight on the hitch) my motor stopped or wouldn't lift off the ball (I have a reese goosebox). would that be the motor?

Could be, could also be low voltage.

I guess I forgot to add that I was plugged into shore power. If there was no weight, it ran as normal, as soon as it bogged down it stopped.

You need to check how many amps it’s drawing while under load, and load test your batteries.
